More than a stay —
an authentic Ladakhi experience

Nestled in the beautiful village of Stok, just about 15 km from Leh, Gyapthago Heritage Home is where Ladakhi traditions, authentic cuisine, rich history and comfortable hospitality come together. Leave the traffic, the noise and the rush behind. Here the day moves to the rhythm of the village — barley fields, snowmelt streams, prayer flags in the wind, and a family that treats you as one of their own.

Seven generations under one mud roof

Built in the early nineteenth century, the Gyapthago house was home to our family for nearly 200 years. Today, about 70% of the historic house has been turned into a heritage museum — preserving the memories, traditions and cultural identity of generations past.

Cooked the way our grandmothers cooked

Since 2006 the Gyapthago family has welcomed guests to taste the real flavours of Ladakh — pure, homemade, traditional Ladakhi cuisine, prepared with local barley, garden vegetables and the slow care of village hospitality.
